The recent tragic story of Daniel Pelka has touched the hearts and minds of many. I found this just giving fund page set up in his memory to raise money for the NSPCC. Please click on the link below and give generously.

    Many thanks singletrack forum

It’s a hideous story of abuse and neglect but I don’t see what the NSPCC would have achieved in a scenario like this, regardless of any additional funding.

I read that page and thought it was a cheap shot at promoting their self interest as a charity, though having re-read the page I see it’s been started by an individual to raise funds for the NSPCC, rather than being set up by the NSPCC directly (my sceptic sense is now barely being triggered).

Please don’t take this the wrong way but why do we need the NSPCC? Surely social services and police should be adequately funded and trained to ensure this kind of thing should never happen. The NSPCC is a charity – which does a good job. Protection of our children should be done by this countries national budget.
