I'm after a bit of local knowledge if poss

A few of us decided to head over to Danbury woods nr. Chelmsford in Essex as a bit of a change to our local loop after hearing good things on the net.

We downloaded a route that had good reviews on BikeRadar. However, when we got there it appears that the National Trust anti-cycling Nazis have made all of the woods to the east and west of Danbury/Little Baddow no cycling.

I'm OK with a short bit of cheeky trail action if it helps to link up some decent rides but after 30 mins of being shouted at by dog walkers it got a bit wearing so we ditched the rest of the loop!

The route we tried to take went through Lingwood Common, Blakes Wood, Pheasanthouse and Scrubs Wood before crossing over the main road into the common.

With the exception of Danbury Common with the jumps/bombholes etc and the first bit of Lingwood this was all no cycling!

Anybody know of any half decent trails round here or is it now confined to just messing about in the bombholes?

    Thanks
