I’m planning a trip for my nightride group to Cwmcarn in early November: could anyone advise me on the condition of the trails after the closures and fire?

    Many thanks!

The Twrch is fully open now, riding really well too as the fire cleared all the overhanging weeds.  One or two spots have had a resurface after a few trees were removed and the roots pulled the surface up but other than that it’s back to normal.  Cafall is still closed though and will be for a while.

It is eery going up the Dragons Tongue section with the right all scorched and the left all covered in brambles and bracken.  The trail obviously acted as a fire break.

Great news about Twrch! That’s Saturday morning sorted for me then.

Can only echo what Milky said, it’s riding about as well as it ever has at the moment. Hopefully NRW don’t need to remove anymore trees and bored locals can refrain from setting it on fire in the summer and it can stay open forever more.

Cafal will be Spring now I guess, looking at it over the valley it’s going to be very, very different when it reopens.
