Got a cross threaded pedal on an old bike, given that I’m not likely to change the pedal anytime soon and it seems to be on the crank tight, should i just leave it be and if removed will the thread on the crank get damaged before the thread on the pedal ( truvativ crank shimano sod pedal)?

In my experience the crank thread will be stripped whilst the pedal thread still appear brand new, if that happens……

That’s what I had in the alps. However as I’d already cracked the spider the day before I wasn’t too upset to do a deal with the shop there and replace the cranks completely. Pedals are still going strong though.
