So there we where on Sunday plodding back up the road to Fairholmes minding our own business when I hear a large noisy diesel come at some speed up behind us and then sit right behind me almost buzzing my rear tyre
I glance over my shoulder expecting them to come past us to see a black Range Rover Sport just as it pulls off onto the track upto Crookhill Farm
As he draws alongside down comes the window and out comes some abusive words very roughly translated for print as “what are you looking at Mr nice cyclist person” before hurtling off up the hill in a cloud of diesel fumes and gravel

    What a rather large….

Anyway Im pretty sure Ive seen same Range Rover parked up at the farm at the top of the tarmac drive up the hill. If your in the area, maybe be careful coming down/up said track as he obviously has very little respect for cyclists / people in general

Had said idiot been driving a Fiat Panda, would you have included that detail in your thread title?

“Set on the edge of the Ladybower Reservoir, this farm is the perfect base from which you can pursue outdoor activities around the Upper Derwent Valley, from mountain biking to walking. Our welcoming and warm tenants of the farm await you.”

Yes, but in that event the incident would be much less likely to happen.

Why you not take number and report to police?

I was thinking the same thing, regardless of where it happens that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.

elfin I didnt really consider it serious enough, driving like a bit of a tool and a bit of verbal, unpleasant but hardly a police matter also I couldnt see as the path goes up above road level and turns off hidden by the verge
Just posted here to make fellow riders aware in case of any future incidents

Pies – I wasn’t aware it was a B&B so if it was just a guest then apologies to the owners, but it still stands that sort of driving and behaviour isnt really a good idea in an area with lots of cyclists, walkers and families

Flashhart – yes whatever car they where driving it was uncalled for and its a bit pointless me warning you to look out for someone that could be haring up a shared path/bridleway at an unsocialable speed and then not tell you what type of vehicle to be aware of isnt it?
Have a Range Rover and a complex do you?
