I was looking at these ages ago and if I recall most reviews seemed to suggest the rims were made of toffee but some loved them. It seemed the older posts were the ones with issues so if they sorted an issue out i dont know ut I decided against them.

How could canyon put these into their bikes, let alone in a strive range… Do you think they sorted this mk3

Not the iodine set but I did buy and run a set of cobalts for a couple of seasons.

I found them to be extremely good.
They were strong, light, laterally stiff,sounded great and the freehub hooked up every time without issue.

I ran them on a Scott genius and had no cause for complaint.
I rode them hard and had no spoke or trueness issues, however if I had needed to get a repair, it wouldn’t have been that easy.
That said, nor would it be for my current Tricons and nor would it have been for any crossmax either.

Only wheelsets/hubs I’ve had fail are mavic. I’d certainly buy crankbros again.. but I’m more than happily running DT stuff now.

I have an original set of iodines and have had no problems in 2 years. Mate had to rebuild a hub after a nasty crash at the mega but his are fine too other than that.

There were a some failures of the first generation rear hubs where the pawl carrier split. I believe the later models are more robust.

I had a pair for a year and they were ok until I replaced the rear rim then they fell to bits and needed constant re truing. The free wheel was ok but they aren’t very well sealed, needed new bearings every six months. They do look cool though………
