Got 2 ex hire Dawes 26″ wheel tandems to refurbish:
Thinking of making one an e tandem with rear wheel motor for a couple I know who would appreciate the helping hand. What’s the best kits out there these days for doing it or where to look / recommendations etc. Cheers

I have an e-tandem conversion with a Bafang BPM hub motor, fitted about a year and a half ago and been good so far. Not as good as my shimano mid drive mtb but still does the job. I’d recommend it.

My brother converted one once, I’ll ask if he still has the wheel available as he no longer rides it.
On an aside are the rear hubs Dawes branded disc hubs – if so I may be interested in buying one from you 🤔

Since it’s single side drive, can you fit a bafang mid drive unit instead. The eccentric BB maybe an issue
