I’m considering a new role which falls under IR35
I guess I’d need an umbrella company to run the payroll etc.
I understand the tax implications, but much of that is offset by an increase in day rate.
Any umbrella company recommendations / experiences or horror stories?

Do you already have a company or are you new to contracting?

Unless it’s changed recently you can run IR35 inside your own company if you want.

My accountant informed me that a lot of contractors in the public sector are now leaning towards using an umbrella company. I think it’s only a matter of time before the government apply the same rules to the private sector.

I’ve considered this, but my understanding is that umbrella companies can do it cheaper.

I’ve contracted through my own Ltd co for 6 years – i’m not new to this, but I am new to navigating a role that has been recorded as falling within the IR35 regs
