    This has to be the toughest combination I have ever used! Try as I might, I cannot get the bead over the rim. The closest I have got is about 20cms of exposed bead.

    I have aligned the rest of the bead in the rim channel, I'm not using tyre levers as they take up even more space inbetween the bead and the rim.

    Any tips? Are some tyres just not destined to fit some rims?

    try warming the tyre up in the airing cupboard then using some soapy water to slip the tyre on…

    mattp – don't take this he wrong way but you can't do that in the middle of nowhere.

    Try grease or vaseline even..
