    Hi,
I’ve left my jacket in the garage for years and behold the wrist zip mechanism (zipper?) corroded and looks green.

    Yes I’m a prat.

The rest of the jacket looks mint.
Anyone know how I can clean this off?

    Thanks for your help.

I released an old back pack’s zips using WD40….sparingly!

Vinegar. Then once it’s sorted wd40 to keep a metal zipper running or silicone spray lube for plastic. Saved many a surfboard bag this way where metal zips last about 2 months before furring up.

Thanks, will try water, then white vinegar and then wd40.

    The zip works fine.

Its the zip slider that’s just turned green with oxidation.

I’ll add a little to an old toothbrush as I don’t want to wreck the fabric.

    Thanks.
