I’be just finished a build and getting a really annoying creaking noise from the top headset area.

To me the inset design of the top cup just seems poor.
The top cap that goes in to the bearing has very insertion into the main bearing and that’s where I believe the movement is coming from.

Anyway else had these problems?

I have a Chris king devolution on my other bike with the standard top headset cup that sits externally and that’s fine.

I’m happy its all together correctly and tightened correctly.
Think I may have to swap it out for a normal king external cup.

Check the tolerance on your headset spacers? I had this problem with a ck headset and a loose spacer
