Currently set up as 50-34, but having tried out loaded panniers, well, people where right.. Could see it being an issue.. 😳 Posted 4 years ago woody2000Subscriber I’m pretty sure you won’t get less than a 34T, suspect they don’t exist. What’s the BCD? Bigger cassette? Posted 4 years ago ojomMember What woody says Nick. Bigger cassette would be wise. Posted 4 years ago JeffusMember 11-36 Wiggins bike even the best need spinny gears Posted 4 years ago TeetosugarsSubscriber Cheers All.. Much appreciated. So I’m guessing I’d be better of with an MTB Chainset then? Posted 4 years ago breatheeasyMember You can get a 33t TA chainring but that’s not going to make a huge amount of difference. Assuming you’ve got double specific STi shifters on the bike? Not 100% if a roadie front mech will work with a mtb double chainset. Posted 4 years ago scotroutesSubscriber Fit a 9-speed MTB mech and a 36T cassette. That’ll work with your 10-speed STIs. Posted 4 years ago mcmoonterMember I use an ultegra triple on my touring bike, 52-39-30 with an XT 34T cassette. Mostly on the flat and rolling climbs I can spin along on the 39′ but when things get steeper I use the 30. Back in the day touring bikes were sold with 42-52 cranksets 😯 Posted 4 years ago HounsMember http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67228 Posted 4 years ago Viewing 9 posts - 1 through 9 (of 9 total) The topic ‘Chainset queries…’ is closed to new replies.
