I need a chain tensioner / keeper for a bike with a press fit BB and no ISG tabs. Was looking at the Bionicon c.guide V.02 but also saw this on CRC – Chain Tensioner

Anyone got any experience of either?

Haven’t tried that one on CRC, but did try this Kore one previously Kore chain tensioner, but found it wasn’t too reliable.

I’m now using a c.guide v.02 and it hasn’t let me down yet, even over the roughest terrain I could ride, this is on an XC hardtail 3×9.

I’ve got good memories of that device, it swivels when the chain goes up and down the cassette. Great design and well priced. In fact, thanks, I’m buying one now!

Cheers ryanctj, that’s a pretty cool DIY option. I have loads of old reflectors hanging around, so may be a good free temporary solution to start with.

I have the Brand-X one from the OP on my commuting hack, as the chain is forever falling off.

Works okay; chain falls off far less now.

But still does from time to time.
