Happened to Erik Zabel on the 2004 Milan San Remo. Must be quite gutting after 7 hours in the saddle!

On the plus side his sponsors are getting far more coverage than they would had he actually won. He took the trouble to make sure the sponsors name is visible too, good thinking.
