- Cathkin Braes
White101. Not sure if you know the area, whilst it will be very easy to ride to the braes from EK the ride back won’t be quite so enjoyable, it’s uphill all the way. There are about 3 different routes depending on where your hotel is. 2 of them (head towards carmunnock are country road most of the way). The other one is dual carriageway over the top of a hill.
The braes itself is ok for a few laps. Approx 3.5 miles round a lap which you can do in about 25 mins. Enjoy.Posted 3 years ago
Working in East Kilbride all next week and this is close to my hotel, I hear differing things about it but all I am after is an hour spin after a day working with arsholes to relieve the stress.Posted 3 years ago
Anything else close by as a better alternaitve or will this suffice my needs?
Will you have a car? If yes, do yourself a favour, and drive to milngavie and ride with GMBC, or down to ayrshire and ride with me n my buddies. Cathkin is dung.
Greg – in current trail conditions Mugdock is proper messy and Cathkin has drainage, so is not a muddy mess. I do agree that Fairlie Moor is much better but its a 40 min drive, and mugdock is 30.
OP, there will be GMBC rides at Mugdock Tue 7pm and wed 745pm. details herePosted 3 years ago
