I am looking to get a couple of bengal kittens in the coming weeks or months and have been thinking about names for them. The plan, not cast in stone, was to get 2 siblings – a boy and girl and call them Babbage and Ada – or if two boys possibly Babbage and Turing. I can’t think of a good 2nd girls name though if needed. Are these names too geeky and if I get 2 girls, what should the 2nd one be called ?

One of the many great things about cats is they don’t give a **** what you call them. So just call them Babbage and Ada or whatever, never mind if they’re male or female. I used to have a brilliant little mog called Steve, she was bonkers.

We’ve got three boys, Joey, Archie and Colin. But you can call them Curly, Larry and Mo, they’ll only listen if there’s a reason to.
    Call yours Dick and Liddy.

I wanted to call them one and two.. if one got lost we would still have two. They are well laid back no problems so far.

We, apparently, are getting some chickens when we move into our new house. There will be four of them, apparently.

She’s calling two of them Clarissa and Henrietta. I’m determined that the other two will be called Genghis and Fang.

I called my cat Tesla, she would have been called that if she was a boy also. I’m sure there could be Tesla and Edison or something although Edison strikes me as a boy cat name for some reason.

You need a geeky girls name that’s not Ada and you can’t think of one?

I’ll give you a clue – there’s only one person ever won Nobel prizes in two different sciences, and it’s a woman. She was also the first woman to win a Nobel.

My neighbour’s old cat was called Belerophon Catfeatures the Second (there was no Belerophon Catfeatures the First, they just thought it gave him more gravitas). So call it whatever you want I reckon.

Ex’s cats (she turned into a cat lady) are Ffffffish, Fatty, Pongo and Flat Eric. Pongo was the dog’s name but every time they called him, he ignored it and the cat came running so a name exchange was arranged and now the dog is called Axl Rose.

When me and my brother shared a house a while back, we had three cats.

They were Bruce, Keith, and Doctor Electric.

“A cat must have three different names.”

    Geeky names:

Sheldon and Amy, then you can refer to them collectively as Shamey

or sticking with the non fictional science names what about Watson and Crick
