  • Carbon road forks with disks, how much flex?

Noticed a decent amount of flex on my kinesis dc-19 fork today under braking, and don’t remember ever noticing this before. Is it normal to see some movement here, or should it be stiff as a board?

Fork is approaching 3 years old. Front end seems solid otherwise but maybe it’s worth taking a look at the headset?

Flex is pretty normal IMHO. It’s been like that since new on my DC-19s anyway. Not as much as on my Pace RC31s though!

Thks Druid, I was fiddling with the brake today so peering down at it more than usual. Quite possible it’s always been like that.

My DC-19s seem fine with Hope Mini 160mm, never noticed anything

    Mine are flexy too 🙂

I don’t think they’re full carbon TBH, aren’t they carbon wrapped alloy? Might explain why they’re not flex free?

Ever seen a carbon fishing rod?
Noticed how flexy it can be?

My Pace RC31’s flexed a lot, but I was somewhat over their weight limit. 😳
    (Didnt know at the time).

On-One & Exotic slightly less. My Niner steel forks probably flex even more so.
