Creak from the bar area on my Salsa with carbon Firestarter when heaving on the bars. Having examined and felt everything carefully and ruled out the headset and bar clamp I think it’s the end of the very thin steerer flexing slightly and the headset spacers moving over each other.

Anyone else had this?

I had an annoying click on my road bike, narrowed it down to a dry headset, applied some grease and it went away.

Kuota Carbon X bike creaks from front end has done for years and comes & goes. Searched greased tightened slackened everything never found the cause so gave up, it still works.

I had exactly this and couldn’t find it. Carbon paste on the steerer bung sorted it. Lovely and quiet now!
