I’ve used bar ends on many carbon bars. Just don’t be a gorilla when you’re tightening them up.

Easton approve their bars for bar ends- though, for pinchy ones only not for ones with grub-screw type fittings (which is a stupid way to do it anyway)

Grip doctors dont fit in eastons…

The Mt Zoom carbon bars are suitable for use with bar ends. They do a couple of different widths as well.

When you say 680 plus, would 720 new too wide?

Just got a pair of these new Mt Zoom ones, seem to fit the bill…

Was going to recommend the mt zoom ones. Got the non bar end version and they are lovely, they do a specific one for bar ends.

I’ve got Richey WCS that have metal inserts for bar-ends. They bend a bit on climbs though (Singlespeed grunt).

Not really these days! A minority even there.

depends if you have hand or neck shoulder injuries……. but even without bar ends are still pretty usseful

I found bar ends a massive help with climbing on a singlespeed. Plus more hand positions are useful.

Definitely in the minority, but still a lot more than you’d see out on the trails, at least in my experience.

I sometimes fit bar ends to my wide risers, just for the extra riding position- looks awful, feels weird, but it’s a nice change. Need to experiment with bar ends inbound of the controls, some time.
