We are Planning to sell Our car in the near future so yesterday we put the plate On retention so it’d all be sorted when we found a car.

It’s moved a bit quicker and we are now actually going to view a car tomorrow (at a dealers) with the plan being to put said car in as part ex.

I’ve changed the plates Back on the car and we’re now waiting for the new V5 which should arrive in the post next week.

The car We are viewing is a couple of hours drive away.
In theory is it possible to part ex the car tomorrow without having the updated V5?

Did you do the transfer online?

If so, its effective immediately.

However, if you’ve done the transaction, I think you’ll be okay anyway – just let the garage know the situ…

Yeah all done online. Yes it’s effective immediately. I’ve put the original plates back on, amended The insurance.
Just not sure if the sticking point will be not having the updated V5 until next week

OT but is your number plate made up of a weird mix of capital and lowercase letters 🙂
