I need this doing badly because the weather is so hot and humid. Where have you found a good place to get it done? How much should have you been charged? Cheers

I paid £35 at Hi Q and it was a top notch job. They got rid of the old stuff, pressure tested it and refilled with new. My climate control is ice ice baby cold.

Be aware that they can only legally recharge aircon if it’s pressure tested and not leaking…..
And if it’s leaking is gonna cost ££££££££££££££££££££

tell me about it, i got well stitched on a vw sharan a few years back and spent well over 1k and it still did’nt work.

but then the few years old kia that replaced it, that i was promised faithfully would give me no problems and i’ve had for 18months is at this moment sat in a garage having 3-400quids worth of work done just to get through an mot.. lets just say never ever buy a kia.

Buy a can of gas at Halfwits and do it yourself. Easily within the technical abilities of an average hamfisted home bike mechanic like me. The can comes with instructions but I found a more detailed guide for my Focus via google.

I took my old Focus to Kwikfit to get it recharged for £45; they said it was leaking and wouldn’t do it.

I called out a local specialist chap who came out twice, once on a Sunday morning and again on a Tuesday night, who diagnosed the leak, gave me the option of fixing it for me or doing it myself (which I did – a new condenser, £70), tested the fix, re-oiled it and recharged it for £55 – just a tenner more for doing much more and far more thoroughly. You won’t catch me going to Kwikfit again!
