Im going to cannock this weekend and was wondering can it be done on a single speed???

Every time I see a Single speed I think about my old commute on that orrid thing, I just thought that all SS bikes had to be peddled all the time, 😳

Like jekkyl said that first switchback climb on the monkey will be quite loose in this weather, but as long as you gurn plenty you’ll get up it.

@ discoduck I’ve actually tried fixed off road. A lot of fun when you’re on your own as it’s a different challenge but personally prefer SS when riding in groups as it means I can actually keep up down hills!

SS is ideal for Cannock. Me & most of my riding buddies ride it SS.

It’s not a problem on a 29er single speed running 33×20 gearing. Have fun, and enjoy chuckling at those stuck in the past on 26″ wheels and gears 😉

LAST TIME I WAS THERE, ON MY GEARED BIKE (IT WAS MY ONLY BIKE AT THE TIME) THERE WAS A GUY ON A BLUE SS SPOT BRAND. HE WAS GOING VERY FAST INDEED.

Amazingly, of all the mountain bike races I’ve ever won, half of them were at Cannock on a Singlespeed.
