Apparently 13,000 households still only have a B&W TV

My cousin is blind but likes to listen to the TV programmes. Has a colour TV but only pays for a B&W license. Pretty common apparently.

Did wonder how many of those 13,000 B+W TVs actually have a SCART socket to plug in the Sky/Freeview box, given that analogue has gone.

    Or how many of those 13,000 B+W TVs… erm aren’t 😉

I wish B&W did make TV’s, but alas they only make speakers

That article (the link doesn’t work for me though) is using fact A to tell story B. As mentioned above the licenses will be held by blind people, not by people with black and white TVs. The number of B&W licenses – the fact – has nothing to do with the number of B&W tellies owned or in use – the story. The story is about people who own and collect old TVs, non of the people interviewed use those B&W as their principle set for viewing – they will all have a regular colour license.
