I’m looking at buying a bike which comes with 100mm recon gold rl forks.

Can I upgrade them to 120mm?

    Cheers

That’s increasing the travel, not upgrading the damping. I don’t know there answer to you actual question.

I had some Recon gold’s on a bike a few years back and they were internally adjustable 80mm-120mm. Find the manual for your fork and it’ll show you how.

Science officer. It’s both that I’d like to do. Or just sell them and buy rebas later on?

The only way to be sure is to open them up and look for the spacers inside. If there is a spacer you can take it out and get more travel.

The travel on my 100mm recon golds was certainly not adjustable.

    This may help (page 16)

I’m sure it’s not financially worthwhile looking into upgrading the damping compared with just buying a better fork in the first place.

    Thanks Martin
I was thinking it wouldn’t be worth it. I’ll just use the hem at first and change them later on.
