  • Can I extend the travel of Fox 130mm forks?

    A Commencal meta 29er is about to land on my doormat: comes with ” Fox 34 Float CTD Adjust FIT, QR15, Tapered, 130mm, Kashima ” and I’m pretty convinced they are the same bones as the 140mm version: is there a way to win back the 10mm (or more?)
    Any thoughts appreciated…

    I had a pair of 130mm Marzocchi AM1s once but the AM2 & AM3s had 150mm travel. All I did was remove a 20mm piece of plastic pipe that was preventing them extending to their full length.

    Generally, Fox forks can be shortened, but not extended. It’s the internals that are different, even though the chassis is the same.
