  • Campsite near Blair Atholl for tonight?

Off for a long weekend in Skye and want to get a couple of hours up the road tonight so looking for a campsite vaguely in the area of Blair Atholl. Just two people and a ‘normal’ tent (not some huge family barn thing).

Any recommendations? Just wanting to turn up, pitch, cook some dinner, sleep and then leave pretty much. A lot of the places that way I can find on the net seem to be holiday parks so not cheap…

The big park at Blair Atholl is fine. The camping area is close to the entrance so you don’t have to get caught up in the “holiday park” thing. Plus – it’s nearer the pub.

online booking says no vacancies.. will give them a call.

Also, we stayed at Badaguish the other weekend following on from your other recommendation on that thread, great spot and the pods seemed brand new.

Aye – some of them are (well last Autumn).

There’s another option here but you might be too late to go through the booking procedure

Try Minton/Milton of fonab in Pitlochry. Is a holiday park so don’t know prices but they take tents (no bookings just turn up). Handy for the A9 and a short walk to town.
