How do I tell whether the gas is working on a camping cooker.

My mum and dad have loaned me their camping cooker, which they've always used with camping gaz butane bottles. I've fitted a new bottle using their regulator and the cooker won't work.

I can hear gas coming out and it does sort of blow the match flame, but it just won't light. Any ideas anyone?

Is it air in the system still? can you smell the gas?

Is the gas blowing the match out before igniting? Try having the gas on and bringing the match to the gas rather than having the match in place and turning the gas on. YOu need to get teh light right to the nozzle where the gas comes out.

Mine does this when it has not been used for while as above though for lighting or use a lighter and switch on for a few seconds and bring match to gas
    BEWARE OF WOOSH FACTOR!!!
