    IMS?
    Proper science or quackery?
A mate had needles stuck in him for a shoulder injury, and I just read on another forum someone saying they had similar treatment for a calf injury.
Not planning on having any myself, but I was just wondering what the current consensus was on it?

Im not a Physio, but the Physio I see has used needles on me for all my injuries – from shin splints to inflamed tendons to soft tissue damage and tight/sore areas. It really works for
me – usually I get a lot worse short term but the next morning it's so much better.

"A systematic review concluded that dry needling for the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome in the lower back appeared be a useful addition to standard therapies, but that clear recommendations could not be made because the published studies are small and of low quality."
