Just pushing off from an off camber road side today when my calf gave an almighty twinge as is something had torn. What could have happened? It’s v. painful and makes it difficult to walk.
Sounds like you have just used it at a funny angle and twinged it, maybe pulled the muscle slightly.
Normal RICE method for a few days, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation even just for a little bit a day will help.
Other than that just give it time.
If it’s a calf tear then as above – with rest being in order. Often find I can get away with a bit of road cycling but absolutely no running when I injure my calf.
