Came home tonight to find a pizza menu wedged in the back door
This is in a walled back garden with a head high gate and not easy to get into. The front door had a copy of the same leaflet pushed through it.
Rang pizza company and police but not a nice feeling.

Time to buy a rhodesian ridgeback and leave him in the back garden. 🙂

Small laminated note beside the door explaining that you only eat guten-free should sort it.

Can you take finger prints from a menu?

“I climbed over a head-high gate into your walled rear garden to wedge a pizza menu in your back door after pushing one through your front door” sounds like the prefect explanation. And I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t accept it.

Easy explaination – they wedge it in the door to see if it’s still there later. Doubt the company have anything to do with it so most likly going to be a dead end, not like they just hand those leaflets out to anybody 😉

Hi mate. Couple of crime prevention tips for you. The simplest is let your neighbours know. The more people who are vigilant the better. CCTV, great idea but a good system isn’t cheap

Expect to pay £200ish. A good idea is to put a coupke of these by the back door. You need 2 to set up correctly or you can put one just inside by the door

    http://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/1831326131526852709?sclient=tablet-gws&client=safari&hl=en&q=yale+standalone+alarm&oq=yale+standalone+alarm&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.70138588,d.ZGU,pv.xjs.s.en.Q8Qad3Uxl6g.O&biw=1024&bih=622&tch=1&ech=1&psi=WqK7U4_1G-qJ7AacsIHYCQ.1404806628221.7&ei=pqK7U-LzGI2h7AampYGgDA&ved=0CFMQpiswAQ

Hide them in the area around the door and the alarm should scare off any potential thieves.

Most important is see if anyone is hanging around the area. Don’t be afraid to call 101 and report anything suss either person or vehicle. If you do see anyone dodgy get a good description and note the time of day. Same with vehicles. The more info you can pass to the police the better.

Could you put a sign on the back door saying you know they are sniffing about and you now have cctv operating. Maybe put an arrow to your next door neighbours house saying that Big Bad Bill is happy to show them how stupid breaking in would be.

I would also secure the bikes a little better than normal.

Just a suggestion but surely any thief is gonna think twice if they are confronted with a sign acknowledging their intent.

Fit dummy alarm boxes front and rear.

Fit a real alarm rather than dummies- not that expensive. More effective deterrent than CCTV perhaps?

The police had a full face cctv from a bank of the person who used my bank cards to take £500 out of my account but nothing came of it.

The Yale wireless alarm from Scewfix is easy to install and does the job.

CCTV easily defeated by scumbags wearing hoods.

Board full of nails inside the back door?

Get 10 of these printed out really big. Photoshop the words if you like.

One in each room, and over the front and back doors.

Now they will know you have expensive bikes for them to take.
