Yeah, miniseries is just the pilot really…

although if you come out of the miniseries not wanting to see anymore then maybe don’t bother, I ended the mini series hungry for more…

Ta. So far it’s not that different to other sci fi I’ve seen.

If you enjoy the MS, I’d give series one a shot, bit slow up to ep. 5/6 but then themes really begin to settle in. The main difference as far as I was concerned was that it was substantive, and it was good.

S1 ep1 – “33” is edgy stuff if you ask me

What other sci-fi is that then?

    Nothing out of the ordinary.

I tried it as it’s been mentioned in the “must see” dvd threads.

It lurk seems pretty ordinary, that’s all.

    MS ❓

grunm/CZ…the new Trekkie stuff (bar Enterprise) which I quite liked, DS9, some cinema.

I guess it just seems like tv sci-fi, not up there with the series that the stw threads favour like 6 Feet Under, Wire etc.

I’d say it’s in a league of it’s own, became completely addicted to it.

I started watching it recently. Currently up to season 3, episode 10ish. It’s a slow burn, but it gets very good. In S3 the wheels really come off.

Not sure as it tops Firefly or Farscape though.

    Mini-series.

But if I watch that, then in a month’s time I’ll reach the end of series 4 and get my free time back…

    oh temptation…

I think as things lie, it tops firefly, but if firefly had been given time, support, freedom, and absence from meddling, well maybe not. We will never know. Even inc. serenity BSG is still ‘bigger’.

Pity Caprica lost it’s way and got canned…

Hmmm, I never thought Farscape was any good either (tho I didn’t stay with it for long). Maybe sci-fi’s just not for me.

Enjoying Cardiac Arrest just now, Saxondale next!

Have to say when people first started trying to get me to watch it I didn’t think it was for me. ST and such never really held my attention… But in the end its about so much more than “Space! and stuff!”

    Get out.

    You an’ all.

to be fair, Farscape takes a bit of work to ‘click’ with. It is one of the best sci-fi shows ever, but it’s so off the wall that it takes time for you to get your head around.
