- Brownbacks Racing needs you – Be part of your local mountain bike scene!
Well it’s almost race day and we’re a couple of marshals short of the number we need to run the course we have planned. We’ve pushed the design of the course a bit further than usual this week to try to keep the racing fresh, but as a result we need a couple of extra willing volunteers to make it happen.
So "what’s in it for me" you might well be asking? Well, this year Buff have kindly come on board to sponsor our marshal’s, so as well as the snack bar, drink, and catering van voucher you'll find in your goodie bag, if you’ve not marshalled for us before this series, you’ll also find a specially printed Buff only available to those helping out at Buff sponsored events! We’ve also added a luck dip element in to the marshals goodie bag, and so if you’re really lucky you might find a little extra something lurking in the bottom of your bag from one of our sponsors.
Don’t let the chance of inclement weather put you off either. Express Asphalt has provided waterproofs to keep you warm and dry should the heavens open.
At the end of the race you’ll stand a 1 in 15-ish chance of winning £50 cold hard cash, as well as a whole load of gear given to us by our sponsors in the marshal’s raffle.
Add to all this the massive positive karma you’ll gain from supporting our not-for-profit race (all “profits” go to local charities; Brownbacks organisers are volunteers too and take nothing out of the series for running it), as well as the fact you should be well on your way home by 13:00, and it all adds up to a pretty sweet deal.
So where do you sign up? Just send an e-mail to email@example.com letting us know you’ll be in Lee Quarry car park for 8:45am on Sunday and we’ll add your name to the list.
Any questions about marshalling, just send an e-mail to the above address and I’ll get back to you.
