I’ve got C456 with 3x SLX, 140mm dual air revs, Avid 5 brakes and some great Mach Zero wheels. i need shot of it, should i brake it and sell individually, or spend 40 quid or so and sort the chain etc and sell as whole? also, which classifieds have peops had the best results with? cheers

You’ll get more if you sell it in bits. What wheel size is it? If its 26 then definitely break it up.

Classifieds on here and pinkbike are a bit crap – everyone wants a real bargain rather than what its worth. If you want shut of it, the answer is ebay but you have to suck up the charges (but you get more to offset this)

Classified here and pinkbike seem to be very slow at the moment.

Are there any bits that you want from the bike (saddle, bars, stem, pedals)? If so I would split as the cost of replacement is way more than the cost of taking these bits off and keeping them.

If not then sell complete. I think your drivetrain and brakes will fetch very little though (eg I sold a 2 x 10 Deore drivetrain with plenty of life left for £40 last year) so you’d have to ask yourself if you really will get more splitting.

you’d have to ask yourself if you really will get more splitting.

    And I’d say probably not.

Normally I’d say a local facebook cycling for sale page. Few in the NE are very good. But they aren’t very good for niche stuff. People want brands they’ve heard of – trek, specialised, giant etc. Still worth a go.

I’d do nothing to it. Sell it as a whole. Be clear what needs doing and price accordingly. If you split some smaller items will be hard to shift. Unless you think you can get the same for wheels, frame, fork alone. Most everything else will just be hassle.

Hi guys, thanks for your thoughts, probably whole as it is then, maybe I’ll take the hit on eBay even, cheers

Got one myself but rather than get rid, it’s on my plans to turn into singlespeed. I’d barely get much for the parts and frame I still like.
