A work colleague just got a new bike with Fox forks and they squeak when you compress them slowly. Sounds like the wiper seals are making the noise. I can’t feel any oil film at all above the wiper. They feel as if they’ve got loads of stiction as well. Is this normal for Foxes or have the factory not oiled the foam rings behind the dust seals?

It’s the second bike he’s had, the first one had Rockshox and one leg had the wiper seal not fitted correctly, it was free to move up and down the stanchion!

Take it back to the shop.
Try leaving bike upside down overnight.

No lube oil or very little?
Upside down for an hour should lube the upper bushings and foam rings “IF” there is oil in there in the first place.
