    Hi,

What brakes are people running on their T3s? I want to run 28s and guards. Will a stock 105 brake (which says it will take 28s) do? Or do I need something with wider clearance?

    Thanks!

The frame is designed for a long drop brake

I used these on a T2 and they would tale a 28 without guards but I’m not certain about with them. Decent brake though

There’s not a lot of choice in long drop calipers, from what I remember Tektro and Miche were other options

Thanks, will have a look for some long-drops.

Any idea how long they need to be? IIUC the new 105s (7000) have a greater drop (51mm) than the older ones (49mm) not sure if that is enough, or if you really need the full 57mm ones?

Kinesis say long drop / 57mm. Depending on your budget TRP RG957’s are very good but they’re around £100.

I had a kinesis as a winter bike. IIRC I used Shimano R650, Ultegra level I think. I’d happily use R451 too, their calliper brakes are just fine.

You NEED the 57mm drop I’m afraid. Shorter just won’t reach properly.

Thanks all will do some research on those options.
