    What brake pads fit trek fuel ex 8? when a tyre spec says it is wire what does this mean?

    A 'wire' tyre is one with a bead made from a inflexible metallic wire usually steel. The converse is a 'folding' bead that is made from a material such as Kevlar.

    You really need the brake model, yes it could be the standard ones that came as bought but brake manufacturer and model is what's needed.

    It all depends on what brakes you have. For Example my Trek ex8 has Avid Juicy Five breaks. Therefore i have to buy break pads that fit avid juicy fives. I tend to just by them from ebay rather than paying over the odds for branded Avid ones.

    Wire – this means the tire as a wire bead round its edge. Just means you cant fold them up and put in a bag. Also wire beads tend to weight more.
