54 miles on the roadie singlespeed in the rain. Not the most fun ride of the year it has to be said. But that’s the back of the Festive 500 broken. 130 miles to go.

I did 23 miles in the cold and wet round Macc Forest and Cumberland Brook, really enjoyed getting out in the fresh air.

Weather has been minging here today, so I swerved the usual club boxing day 10. In work tomorrow and looking like dry weather so I’ll ride in instead.

Just some local stuff, but I love riding my hardtail in the woods.

Blast round houndskirk, blacka moor and curbar edge. Very wet and cold. And foggy

16km only. Road. Checking out my Xmas goodies (Shimano winter SPD boots, Wahoo Elemnt, Morvelo Overland shorts*).

All working perfectly.

*Wouldn’t wear baggy (or, more accurately, ‘gravel’) shorts on a road rode, obvs, but you know, checking out new kit …

Hopefully out for a couple of hours early tomorrow …

20 mile round trip to the pub for a free curry and a “few” pints.

Maiden voyage of the new Rail. Verderers followed by a bit of fun on the DH tracks.

80km round the back roads of South Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Spent the time trying to work out what kind of cycling I want to do and thus what clothing and equipment I need to replace / upgrade. Got drenched at about 60km, which made me change my mind about what I need to buy… 🙄

It was mildly moist. There were some bits of deep, claggy mud, but apart from that it was ok.

Only my third time there!
