I already have a HT II tool which I’ve used before to remove a Truvativ bb and replaced with a Race Face bb (yes I know it was a bad idea to use a RF bb)

My question is, do I need anything else to fit a shimano bb or is the HT II tool all I need?

you need the tensioner for the star nut

But isn’t the star nut tensioner just for Shimano cranks?

I have a shimano bb and race face crank

What you have got will be perfect, the star nut tensioner is to pre tension the cranks as you say.

    just the BB tool.

you need an 8mm and a 10mm hex key (and the right number of spacers) for the RF crank.
