I’ve used them loads of times. I seriously don’t think there is a finer way around London Village than a Boris bike, unless you’re in a rush, which I’m not, and they are fairly quick anyway.
Don’t need to worry about locking them up either, and it ACE when you perfect riding straight into the docking station! 🙂

One tip – get the app one our phone. It tells you where all the docking stations are (GPS mapping) and if they have spaces for parking up or bikes to take away.

    They weigh several tons.

Even in the highest gear of the three, you will be spinning the pedals like a madman.

if you don’t have the app, you will spend more time looking for somewhere to dock the bike at your destination than you did reaching your destination.

I still think they are great ( Though obviously the Brompton is the King…).

Only 5 mins late. Ah, it was ok, there’s just one turning I keep missing and then haven’t got a clue where I am. Shame the weather has gone crap.
Funny though – pedestrians seem as wary of the bikes as cars do. No-one’s walked out in front of me yet.

ride down Oxford Street or in the Square Mile – shopping tourists and city boys are prime for mowing down.

    Ok here’s a tip..

Look up. Find a point of interest and locate that. Then navigate around that focal point where ever you are in the city. As you develop the Skilz, locate a couple of them and navigate around them. Use them as reference points like you would on a trail. (tower 51 in Broadgate, Gerkin, BT Tower, Tower Bridge, Aldgate, 7 Dials, etc. etc. the porn shop on the corner near Tokyo Fixed etc. etc. )

If you constantly look down at the road you’ll get lost, you’ve no reference points see.

    HTH.

And yes, that’s the weather for you sometimes it rains.. But I bet you got a bike ok though yeah?? 😆

It’s a good tip bikebouy – and my ref point is the Shard! It’s massive, but at the point where I get lost I can’t see the damn thing. That’s the problem with that London, the streets are lined with buildings! All I have to do is get from North of the river, to the river. But I’m thick as pigshit. (stupid 😀 )
