I’d watch the first one first, but I don’t think it would really matter other than topical relevence… it’s a cringingly disturbing expose of what some sections of society really think…but also hillarious.

I kinda know what you mean, but the way he gets people to let thier guard down and talk freely about how ****** up they are without irony, is a master stroke. Enligntening and disturbingly frightening in equal measure.

The first one was great. This one is embarrassingly bad – if the kind hearted black lady isn’t an actor the “setup” borders on pretty exploitative.

The whole scene with Rudy Juliwhatnot is, erm… indescribable and as shocking as anything I’ve seen from louis theroux and at any other time would be career ending for Rudy.

That’s it though. I wasn’t sold on the first film till I saw it.

Really enjoyed it, but do wonder how many were actors and how many were real.

If the latter, then I think he’s really cleverly portrayed the good natured side of all factions, as well as exposing their (sometimes incredulous) beliefs. Except Rudy – here he’s just shown him for the despicable **** he is.

The two Trump supporters that he stayed with were brilliant.

I thought it was fairly crap until the last 10 minutes , The Covid theme redeemed it. The Guiliani thing had to be an actor as why would he cough if it wasn’t. My kids watched It (17 and 19) and I did cringe half way through and advised them to watch the original as no body knew who Baron cohen was so it seemed real.
Still for a freebie it was worth it.

His daughter, Maria bakalova, is amazing. For a complete unknown to do such an accomplished comic and fearless turn was fantastic.

You have to suspend your disbelief a lot though. We re expected to believe he spent lockdown with 2 Qanon guys, in character, with a camera crew with him? No, sorry

But fearless, ballsy comedy and Bakalova is a revalation, particularly the bit where she ‘discovers herself’.

The Giuliani ‘sting’ is funny but we all know he’s a sleazy guy, I like the bit where SBC says something about his cousin

There was such a glaring absence of subtlety in so much of the film. The fertility dance was weird enough, why did it need to be accelerated beyond believability?
