A cold crispy day around Epping, down to Whips Cross for hot steaming tea and a sausage in a long roll (the French have a name for it, the roll that is).

There’s just something about frozen muddy single track, cold water crossings, steam raising off fellow riders

At one point feeling like an ice trucker as frozen commons were being crossed, plenty of grip then nothing! Just relax and wait for traction to return.

Returning to High Beech for mulled wine, ride reflections and Christmas best wishes.

Slowly warming up on the drive home to a hot stinging shower, winter food, mugs of tea. Bottle of a robust red wine or IPA, why not it’s Christmas enjoy both!

The bike is no longer frozen and the mud is drying out, time to relax and think about those comments of those who don’t ride, is it madness no way!

Tomorrow evening the bike made ready for the next ride, therapy in it’s most effective form.

God bless the ride, a happy Christmas and a great New Year to you all!

    Indeed 😀

Was fantastic out today but slippy or what??? – I don't think I'll be entering the Megavalance anytime soon 😐
