Don’t quite get the two levers on the dash to engage/disengage the engines, wouldn’t the driver have to take both hands off the steering wheel? daft idea. Loverrly boat tho
CFH – fair call, Velsheda is the prettiest, but Ranger is the awesome. 😀
bearnecessities – I drove the old inland rescue RIB on the Mersey in the ’90s. I was told (but never substantiated) that the boat hull was the prototype Atlantic Challenger. Chuff me it was fast (and tippy) with two inboard V6’s 8)
geek alert: the lambo engines have apfelbeck cylinder heads – the inlets are in between the camshafts (where the spark plugs are), instead of in the V as in usual. hence the weird positions for the carbs
Lolz at the canvas crowd! I like boats. Period. I think the J’s are some of the most exquisite vessels ever built, but I also love boats that make loud noises and go like the clappers!
That Riva is a stunning example of the boatbuilder’s craft, the fact it goes like a cat with a spark up its ass is an added bonus!
It’s always good to see a bunch of boat pics posted; keep it up, chaps! 😀
Stinkboats leave me cold, but if I could persuade SWMBO, I’d be on a dutch barge tomorrow.
Unfortunately she still has the horrors from when we had a gaff rigged ketch – took her through the edge of a cyclone in North Queensland – I think she took it personally when I called her moveable ballast and made her sit on the rail to help keep the boat upright.
These days, all I want is one of these. Just the job for nipping across the Minch. 🙂
