    Hi,

    I’m looking for an XC hardtail, does anyone have any experience of the Specialized Chisel or the Boardman MHT 8.9? The latter looks like great value. I’m looking for overall speed not just speed in the descents.

    My GF has a chisel. she has 100mm Rebas on it. She has put drop bars and road sti and hydraulic brakes. its her long distance offroad bike.

    She really likes it, It is comfortable as it isnt super stiff. Ruth is about 9 1/2 stone and loves it. Im 13 1/2 stone and it felt a little flexy to me,

    I have the Boardman.

    As you say great value and it is fast up, down and along.
