Can anyone recommend me some really nice guitar based blues albums please?

Slow stuff that can make you weep.

Townes Van Zandt Live at the old quarter. Maybe more country/folk than blues, but with a couple of proper blues… Will certainly make you weep.

I bought ‘Road Tested’ – Bonnie Raitt live – yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed listening to it today. Kim Wilson, Brian Adams and Bruce Hornsby feature on it as well, among others.

    Bonnie Raitt is ace.

    Gotta love JJ Cale, too.

Axis : Bold as Love by Jimi Hendrix. Can’t pick out a track as they’re all sooooooo good. (Esp, Little Wing, castles Made of Sand, If 6 were 9, Spanish…. no really they’re all good). Then you might get sidetracked into similar by John Mayer and Ducks can Groove who do tributes, then Prince, Zappa etc.

Holds up well for a 46 year old album.
