Potentially looking at a ride around Lady Cannings and then Blackamoor, devils elbow….

How will it be riding after the damp week we’ve had?

Also anyone who has a GPX/TCX for 10-15 miles around there would be great. I’ve not ridden that area of t’peak

From endcliffe park in town ride all the way through to Potter’s Clough, at the top turn left for a mile on the road past the lama farm to lady Cannings, then over houndkirk moor to blackamoor, ride up and down as much as you like, then out on the road untill you come to a junction with a big layby opposite, up the bridleway past the rugby club and back down into the parks.

It always used to survive quite well appart from the bog at the bottom. But that was before the days of sick edits.

Keeper of the Peak is a good source of information for trail and weather conditions, follow him on Twitter – @kofthep

The b/ways in Blacka are generally pretty weather proof. Devils Elbow has a had a lot of maintenance work done on it, and the top of Piper House is in the process of being tweaked – both by the Ride Sheffield guys (inc yours truly). It’ll be splashy at the mo, but shouldn’t be any big bogs.

Route? Vertebrate Graphics Stanage loop is the default starting point. Grab an OS map and add/subtract bits as you see fit.

This is quite a nice route. The vertebrate Eastern Moors route with houndskirk and blackamoor added on.
