I’ve an old pair of Nikon binoculars – nothing startling by today’s standards, but they’re good to chuck in the rucksack when out for the day – 8×20, 6.5o. Nice and neat when folded up. Son borrowed them over the summer, not quite sure what he’s done (or what bit he’s ‘broken’) but the adjust flex for the eye width – each lens flexes back and for – is now no longer sticky on one side, so it just flops about. Bit rubbish but not the end of the world.

Can that be restored – not even sure what behaviour I’m trying to describe – latency, retain shape. Are they gubbed? At least to get back to as they were before?
