Always covered my bikes on home insurance. I’m now informed that because of the value of my most expensive bike (£5300) that cover is not available. Does anyone know of any insurer willing to cover expensive bikes (I have 7 in total, from £1500 upwards)? Or do I now need to insure my bikes separately? If so, who’s best/cheapest?

Pedalcover. Beat my normal renewal searches (which I never bother insuring the bikes with) hands down.

Did mine last night with Zurich. £116 for contents and covers both MTB’s £4600 away from home too. I believe you can add as many as you like.

Looks like Pedalcover are worth a quote.
I just use Confused every year.

Cheers chaps, just gave Pedalcover a call and, in between chatting about bikes, got a v reasonable and helpful quote. Just being able to phone up and talk bikes makes me want to use them!

Now insured with Pedalcover. Their quote was actually cheaper than the renewal quote I got without bike cover from my previous home insurance company

Santander. You pay for the most expensive and all bikes (non battery/electric only) under that value are automatically covered.

Speak to a broker? We’ve ended up on a ‘high net worth’ policy (needed it as a modern timber framed house with a flat roof) which includes unspecified valuables up to 5k each with cover away from home.

Thought it was going to be really expensive but actually ended up being cheaper than the M&S policy we used to have.

Just renewed with pedalcover for the third year. have never made a claim but the renewal prices have been sensible each time.

We’ve just joined Pedalcover. Previously with John Lewis specialist insurance. PC were a third cheaper with better cover! Free socks and a genuine Buff too.

Does hiscox have specific bike insurnace, just had a quick look but couldnt see it. The one through BC was quoting me £300 quid, whereas on home insurance its an additional £80
