I know this has been done to death but the search function on this forum is a complete fail.

Due to an outstanding home insurance claim I can’t add my new bicycles to home insurance policy just yet. Therefore I’m after some bicycle specific insurance. Which companies should I be looking at?

Don’t trust Yellow Jersey’s marketing blurb of “we’ve never refused to pay out”, because they denied my claim last year when a tool slipped and rounded out the fitting on one of my Assioma pedals.

Told me it doesn’t count as accidental damage. Not going to renew the policy so watching this thread for other suggestions.

I’m looking too. Just finished a year with Cycleplan and to renew they want £270 😫

    Seems a bit steep!

Is anyone on the forum using http://www.Laka.co.uk ? In principle it sounds great, monthly premium is capped but could be zero if there are no claims in any particular month.

I would personnally give the guys at https://pedalcover.co.uk/ a call.

I don’t work in insurance but I am going to say that Yellow Jersey’s Policy is pretty damned clear…
“SIGNIFICANT EXCLUSIONS: Accidental damage to accessories unless the pedal cycle is damaged at the same time”.
So why on earth would they pay out for ham-fisted workshop repairs?

Got mine with Eversure, they have a cycle department and although it was quite expensive I took a lot of optional extras so it is very comprehensive cover and still turned out cheaper than the other cycle specific comapnies.

I had a google over the weekend. I had no idea Barclays offered bicycle insurance. Im probably going to go with them when I understand the policy in more detail. But the basics are: individual bike value 5k max, no limit on the number of bikes, about £10/month.

Barclays came good for me when my Spitfire snapped. Accidental damage cover covered the frame and other parts damaged when the frame snapped.
