Now before everyone jumps in about where things are made/assembled I am after a build that is inspired by British creations.

Bear with me you'll get the idea…I hope 😆

    Frame: Cotic Soul 2010
Wheels: Hope Pro II (Hope Hoops)
    Headset: Hope
    Seatclamp: Hope
    Seatpost: Hope
    Brakes: Hope M4

This is what I have (or soon to have) so far.

All help appreciated filling in the blanks

    Cheers, MArk

Just (hopefully) added a Renthal ring to the build.

Good call on the cranks….only just sold some 😥 😈

Not a fan of the Pace forks – but could be swayed

Get a handlebar made of fine English oak, and use eccles cakes for pedals.

Isn't Pace a bit of a grey area anyway, now it's under the DT Swiss banner (IIRC)?

Pace and DT swiss have parted company for distribution – DT are Madison now.

There are no (that I know of)…….

    Rims
    Spokes
    gears
    tyres

saddle and grips would have to be brookes surely (grip tape, wound on for several layers is supprisingly comfortable)

Pedals – burgtech are the only onesI can think of (I'll sell you my barely used Mk2's cheeply if you like)

frame and fork – custom build, fork would have to be rigid unless you fancy telelever in a jones style?

    seatpost – hope or USE

being pedantic, middleburn do their forgeing in italy now.

I've been thinking that a nice retro-looking build with silver wheels and finishing kit of a 2010 black Cotic Soul would look lovely.

This is just a pie in the sky build. I have no plans to do it myself but would love to see if anyone else has.

    Essentials:

    Hope silver posts and stems
    Royce BB
    Middleburn cranks and rings
    flat bars

How stupid to suggest using Eccles cakes as pedals when birdseye potato waffles are made in the UK and would be way grippier.

    Sturmey Archer?

taiwanese – sturmey was bought by SunRace..

as for pedals yes BE Potato waffle would be the bunny for pedals and for extra shoe grip – put peas in the waffle holes..

Why not bin the frame and buy a British one?

I've been working on something similar myself with an Inbred, I had to concede defeat when it came to forks and groupset, going with Rockshox and Shimano but I did buy the forks second hand so I think I get kudos for recycling! – I think there's a pun in there somewhere. I've also opted for Panaracer rubber, DMR and Halo both do their own but I fell in love with those red side walls and binned my morals! I'm using some second hand wheels at the moment but plan to get some hope hubs mounted onto halo rims using halo spokes. I use Green oil and eco-grease for lube and muc-off to clean – eco cred and it supports british businesses.

I hope this gives you some inspiration.
