BMW was founded 101 years ago today according to tinternet.
What do you think is the best looking BMW of all time?
It’s got to be the K1:

    With cars, it’s the 850CSi:

I’m with tiggs on this one, I pass an M2 on the way to work most morning, just sat there at the side of the road like it’s about to grab a passing Vauxhall like a crocodile grabs its lunch and eat it.

I was never much of a fan of BMWs but that M2 reminds me of the shoulders of a big Cat, when you catch a glimpse of them on the move and you see all the muscle under the skin. Toit, like a Tiger.

I’m not over-keen on most modern BMW’s – good cars though they are. However, then you hits start putting up classics like the 2002 and CSL and they have always had a massive appeal…

You had it in the OP with the 850. (I could’ve sworn they did a coupe version but it seems I’ve made that up.)

The i8 is no scruff, mind.

Not sure what that is but that’s stunning. The 3.0 CSL looks amazing too.

Not very exciting, but I’ve always liked the shape of the previous generation Z4 Coupes.

Images do not do this car justice
335i xdrive touring – it looks like a flaming fighter jet (especially in blue).

I initially thought this looked odd, but grew to like it a great deal. I’ve been keen on the idea of a 2 seater estate ever since.

I agree the i8 looks pretty smart too – especially the interior.

What I meant was, I could’ve sworn one existed with a more fastback rear end rather than the slightly stepped saloon-y shape.

So do I. Though it does look a bit like the 850 had a torrid affair with a Renault Fuego.

Never really got the Z3 coupe until I saw this, kinda changed my mind about them.

Congrats to everyone who said 507: correct answer.

Are BMWs well known for being good looking though? I know that they make great cars to drive but I’ve always thought that they look a bit boxy, even when they are trying not to be! A bit like the rest of their German brethren. Alfa Romeo, though, is a company who know how to make a good looking car 🙂

Still a fan of these things, not that I’d ever buy one now.

But I did have one of these for a short time .. so I say this is my fave..

Aye, that really does look special, until that point I always had a soft spot for an early 6 series.

Still think about buying a classic 6 but I feel like the actual experience of driving it will not be the same as the idea.

I’ve got my xdrive 3 tourer for day to day service (which I sadly take far too much care off, but I even used to polish the old bangers I drove years ago). I think I may look at the latest Z4 manual when the second had prices drop as a bit of a fun car when the wife and I are without the herberts. Kind of a future classic.
